If God has gifted you with a talent for music, whether singing or playing an instrument, please join our vibrant Music Ministry! A choir recruitment drive and registration are held each year in August. New members of all ages are welcome at any time, and can join the Music Ministry by contacting Director of Music, Mrs. Jodi Connor , at 641-6429 or jodic@stlukeslidell.org .
The Concert Choir (Adults 18 and up) provides music for Confirmation, a Christmas Concert, and the Christmas Midnight and Easter Triduum Masses. The rehearsals, which are separate from the weekend choir rehearsals, are held on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM in the Church from August until Easter.
The Adult Choirs for the 4 PM Vigil, 9 AM and 11 AM weekend Masses rehearse together on Thursdays at 7:30 PM in the Church from August until Pentecost.
The Higher Choir , for teens in grades 6 through 12, rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM in the Church from August until Easter.
The Joyful Sounds Children's Choir , for children in grades 1 through 5, rehearses on Thursdays at 6:30 PM in Church from August until Easter.
The Contemporary Band leads the singing at the 6 PM Sunday Mass. An audition is required for this group only. Please contact Music Director Jodi Connor for more information.
Woodwind, String, and Brass instruments are needed to accompany all Masses as well as Taizé Prayer . If you play an instrument and are high school age or older* , please join in the music! Instrumentalists also play a significant role in our Christmas Midnight Mass and Easter Masses .
Participation in Music Ministry is a form of stewardship. Music Ministry members are liturgical ministers who lead the community in sung worship. Please share your musical gifts, given to you by God, with our St. Luke faith community!
