  Altar Servers

Altar Servers are young boys and girls in grades six through college, who have a call to serve the Lord and their community on the altar during Eucharistic celebrations.   They are instructed in proper altar procedure for assisting the Presider during Masses, Weddings, Funerals and other Liturgical Ceremonies.

  Eucharistic Ministers

Men and women who desire to serve the Lord by assisting in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist are instructed in the laws and teachings of the Church with regard to this ministry. Although a person's ministry may focus on one area (Mass, home, hospital, nursing home, etc.) they must be willing to serve in all areas should the need arise and they are available.

  Lectors

Lectors are men and women who serve our parish by reading the Scriptures at Mass and special Liturgies.

  Liturgy Committee

Liturgy is the coming together of our community in prayer and worship of God. Our community, the body of Christ, is made up of many members, each gifted in a special way. It is the desire of the Liturgy Committee to coordinate our coming together so that each member of the community may bring their giftedness to the Altar and feel very much a part of the Liturgical Celebration.

The Liturgy Committee works with the Lectors, Commentators, Eucharistic Ministers, Music Ministers, Altar Servers, Ushers and all other Ministers of the Liturgy to provide a more meaningful and prayerful Liturgy.

  Music

Singers and musicians of all ages are invited to join one of the choirs in St. Luke's music Ministry as they lead the assembly in joyful songs to the Lord!
The 4:00pm Saturday and 10:30am Sunday choirs rehearse together on Thursday nights at 7:30pm in the church. These choirs consist of four-part mixed voices (men and women), accompanied by guitars and piano or organ
9:00am Sunday choir practices at 7:00pm on Thursday evenings in room 4. This group is accompanied by guitars.
The music for the 6:00pm Sunday Mass is provided by our Contemporary Catholic Band, including acoustic and electric guitars, bass, keyboard and drums.

St. Luke's Youth Choir, "Take Note," will periodically sing with the 6:00pm band. These groups rehearse Wednesday nights in church. "Take Note" is open to all in grades 6-12.

St. Luke's Children's Choir, "Joyful Sounds" rehearses Thursday nights at 6:30pm in church. This group is open to boys and girls in grades 1-5.

Special event choirs are also formed periodically through the Church year to add musical praise to celebrations such as Christmas, Easter Triduum, Confirmation, etc.   These special choirs are made up of parishioners who may not already be part of a choir and volunteers from the standing choirs.

  Ushers (Ministry of Hospitality)

Men, women and older teens of the parish are invited to join this ministry. They greet parishioners as they enter the Worship Center, direct people to seats, assist the handicapped and take up the collections for the Masses on weekends and Holy Days. Ushers have also been active in other events requiring the management of large numbers of people or setting-up for the parish's larger events.
