Communications
Bulletin
The parish bulletin is published weekly to inform our faith
community about and current activities. While capturing the spirit of parish
life, it also seeks to educate, inspire and encourage holiness and Christian
service.
The bulletin is mailed once a month (1st complete week of each month)
to all registered parishioners. Other weekly bulletins are handed out by
Ushers at weekend Masses.
Many hours go into the planning and writing of the bulletin. If you
would like to contribute information, please phone the editor at the church
office at least two weeks prior to the printing date.
Bulletin
Mail-Preparation Group
Every Tuesday morning, a team of ladies and gentlemen volunteers
assemble the pages of the parish bulletin. Once a month (the first full
week) the bulletin is mailed to all registered members. For that bulletin,
this group also prepares them for bulk mailing by labeling, sorting and
banding them together. These volunteers usually begin the day by celebrating
Mass together at 8:45 a.m. and then start the bulletin work in classroom
No.1.
In addition to the bulletin, this group also handles all bulk
mailings, as well as all programs and booklets for special events. Not
only does this group (mostly ladies) share their time, but also their latest
recipes and batches of homemade goodies.
Faithfully In Touch
Faithfully In Touch is a ministry that was formed to stimulate
two-way communication between St. Luke and our parishioners. The ministry
utilizes a network of volunteers, called "Voices of St. Luke", who will
make telephone calls to each family in the parish at least three times
a year.
But Faithfully In Touch is not just about communication, it is also
about caring, compassion, and helpfulness. So it is in this spirit that
each time a call is made, the primary objective is to check on the welfare
of that family and, if a need exists, offer the help of St. Luke's numerous
ministries. While in touch, the Voices of St. Luke will: remind each family
of the significant upcoming events, solicit feedback on how St. Luke is
doing, and , when needed, obtain vital census and stewardship pledge information
for administrative purposes.
This ministry will also be used to welcome new parishioners to the parish.
A special call will be made to welcome each parishioner and familiarize
them with St. Luke.
St.
Luke Connection
As part of our response to Our Lord's command to "spread the
Good News," St. Luke publishes a bi-annual evangelization publication called
"St. Luke Connection." The publication is mailed 2-3 times a year,
to all residents within our parish boundary. It is primarily an outreach
to inactive Catholics with an invitation to become active again, as well
as an invitation to unchurched persons to investigate our Catholic Faith
and decide whether it may be spiritually enriching for them. And finally,
it is a way to share our Catholic beliefs and traditions with our non-Catholic
neighbors.
St. Luke Connection is mailed to our residents within our geographic
parish boundary. Many volunteers are needed to prepare this publication
for mailing in accordance with postal regulations. If you would like to
help with this effort, please contact the parish editor.
