2012 Good Samaritan Ministry Calendar of Events

January 27th at noon – Charity Lunch Bunch Meeting, hosted at Miramon Center
March 10th – HBA Raising the Roof for Charity Fundraiser Early Bird Drawing
March – April 30th - Applications taken for two, one-week St. Luke Summer Camp scholarships. Scholarship awarded by May 18th.
May 23rd at noon - Charity Lunch Bunch Meeting hosted at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church
May 12th -Stamp-Out Hunger Food Drive – date not yet set by Postal Union, but expects it to be May 12th.
June 2nd – HBA Raising the Roof for Charity Fundraiser raffle drawing

June 20 – Aug. 6th – School Supply Program
• Wednesday, June 20th (9 am to 12am), Thursday, June 21st (1pm-5pm) and Saturday June 23rd (9am -1 pm) Applications taken for the first 150 children, grades K-8, for a complete set of school supplies.
• Adoption of Children at the June 30th/July1st, July 7th/8th and July 14th/15th masses
• School Supplies due in July 25th.
• School Supplies distributed Aug. 6th

July 4th – Slidell Heritage Festival
Sept 1- Sept 30 – Second Annual Christmas Trees for Charity Sale
October 3 at noon – Charity Lunch Bunch Meeting

October 15th – November 19th Thanksgiving Basket Program
• Applications taken every Thursday in October (October 4th, October 11th, October 18th and October 25) from 9:30am -12 noon and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm for the first 150 families applying.
• School Food Drive Pick ups from NHS, Slidell Jr. High, Florida Elementary, OLL, John Paul, St. Luke CCD program and local Boy Scout troops, Nov. 15th
• Sorting of cans and assembly of baskets November 15th, 16th and 17th (photo opportunity)
• Distribution November 19th.

October 24th – December 15th Project Christmas
• Wednesday, Oct. 24th (3pm-6pm), Wednesday,Oct. 31st,(9am -12am) Saturday, Nov 3rd (9 am-12am) – registration dates at St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church by Good Sams
• Nov 17th/18th , Nov. 24th/25th masses – adoption of children from approved Project Christmas applicants
• Distribution Dec 15th
